Rover on two wheels

The Rover brand is particularly familiar to older car fans: e-bikes are also offered under the traditional name in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. With a model range from trekking, city and cruising bikes to folding bikes for commuters or campers, they are intended to appeal to a broad user group. Prices range from 1399 euros to 2899 euros.

The Rover Fold e-bike with 16-inch tires is a single-speed bike with full suspension and a 250-watt rear motor. Thanks to its magnesium frame, it weighs just 13.6 kilograms and can be folded up for transport in the trunk or on public transport, to the office or to the campsite. The battery has a capacity of ten ampere hours, which should be enough for 50 kilometers of electric assistance.

The stylish Rover Cruise e-bike rolls on 27.5-inch tires and is available in two frame variants. A rear motor with 250 watts is also used here. The electrical energy from the removable battery integrated in the frame is said to be sufficient for up to 60 kilometers of pedal assistance. The Cruise is equipped with a seven-speed derailleur system from Shimano.

The trekking e-bikes from Rover are available in four versions. Customers have the choice between a low entry and 1.95 inch wide tires or a version with a central bar and a tire width of 2.2 inches. The pedelec is available with rear-wheel drive as well as with a more powerful Bafang mid-motor. The 13 amp-hour battery provides a range of up to 90 kilometers.

The sporty city model is designed as a singlespeed with belt drive and center bar and also has a 250-watt rear motor. The battery capacity is sufficient for up to 50 kilometers of electric assistance. The Rover Urban has 28-inch wheels, which are deliberately slightly wider for unpaved paths, for example in city parks.

The Rover pedelecs are marketed by the Offenburg-based company Elektro Mobile Deutschland. The specialist for cooperative marketing also stocks e-bikes from Jeep, for example. The Rover models are currently being offered at a reduced price. (aum)
