The Hyundai Motor Group's sister companies Kia and Hyundai want to develop polymer electrolyte membranes (PEM) for hydrogen fuel cell systems together with the US materials company Gore. The focus is on increasing performance and service life, primarily for applications in the commercial vehicle sector, but also for passenger cars and stationary operation. The PEM technology comes from Gore, the fuel cell know-how from Kia and Hyundai. The three companies have been working together on fuel cell technology for over 15 years. (aum)
